Assessment Inquiry – Important Information
Property assessment in Alberta is legislated to reflect an estimate of market value as of July 1 of the previous year, with the physical characteristics of the property recorded as of December 31 of the previous year.
For example, your 2026 assessment reflects market value as of July 1, 2025, based on the physical condition of your property as of December 31, 2025.

The objective of property assessment is not to determine a precise or pinpoint value for an individual property. Rather, assessments are intended to fall within a reasonable range of market value and to be fair and equitable in comparison to similar properties.
Keeping the above in mind, if you have questions or concerns relating to your assessment value, please proceed to the next step to submit an inquiry.
If your concern relates strictly to property taxes, please contact your municipality directly. Assessors are not responsible for municipal tax policy or setting tax rates, only the assessed values.
